The Empowerment of Doodles

If I could travel back in time to my younger-self, I would do two things.

One, I would punch myself.

Second and more importantly, I would tell myself to keep all the doodles I drew.

Aside from feeling the pain of having all the artistic knowledge embedded in your brain, a more viable indicator of progress is a direct comparison between the works of your old self and current self.

It is great to have peers or critics evaluate your work for you to tell you whether you are on the right track. But, ultimately, at what standard of art you want to end up in, that still depends on you.

The image below the first is an older doodle I did of my first personalized character.
